PRIVACY POLICY
DarkPark, based in Delft and Zoetermeer, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy policy. We like to keep it simple: we only collect what's needed to make your booking and visit run smoothly, and we never sell your data to third parties.
What data we collect
Bookings. When you book an escape room, we process your name, email address, phone number, the room you chose, the date and your group size. We need this data to carry out your booking and to send you a confirmation and practical information.
Payments. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Mollie. We don't store any card or bank account details ourselves. Mollie's privacy policy applies to the processing done by Mollie.
Webshop orders. When you place an order, we process your name, address and contact details to deliver the order and keep you informed.
Contact. If you email us, call us or use the contact form, we keep that correspondence so we can answer your question.
Newsletter. Only if you've signed up for it do we use your email address to send you newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every newsletter.
Website visits. We want to know how our website is used, so we can improve it. For that, we count ourselves, without cookies, how often pages are viewed, where visitors come from and what kind of device they use; we don't store your IP address. If you give your consent in the cookie notice, we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. They show us which pages are visited, what visitors click on and where they drop off; to do so, Clarity also records how a page is used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movements), without what you type into a field. We only use this to improve the site, never for advertising, and we don't link it to your name.
How long we keep data
We don't keep personal data longer than necessary. We keep booking and order data for as long as needed for our records and our legal (tax) retention obligations. You can always ask us to delete your data sooner; see your rights below.
Who we share data with
We share data only with parties we need in order to deliver our services, such as our payment provider (Mollie), our email service and our hosting providers. We have agreements in place with these parties on protecting your data. We never sell your data.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. You can also object to the processing of your data or request that your data be transferred. Send your request to hello@darkpark.com and we'll respond as soon as possible, and within four weeks at the latest. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Security
DarkPark takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access and unwanted disclosure. Sensitive data is stored encrypted, and connections to our website run over a secure connection (HTTPS).
Cookies
The site itself only uses functional cookies: to remember your cookie choice, your language, your shopping cart and your login to Mijn DarkPark. In addition, five external parties set cookies, but only if you choose Accept in the cookie notice:
- Google: Google Analytics (statistics), YouTube (videos) and Google Maps (maps);
- Microsoft: Clarity (statistics on how the site is used);
- Vimeo: the trailers of our escape rooms;
- Spotify and Apple: the players of our podcast.
If you choose Decline, nothing from these parties loads: you then see a map we make ourselves from the OpenStreetMap map, and the image of a video; clicking it asks you again. You can always change your choice via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Google and Microsoft may also process data in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. What these parties do with your data is set out in their own privacy policies.
