Don’t get the wrong idea, the Freakshow escape room isn’t a haunted house. At DarkPark, we’re not here to give you grey hairs; we’re much more interested in personal growth. We’ll gently push you out of your comfort zone, just enough to make you feel alive again, but we’ll never cross any lines.

We call it fun-scary.

That said, it’s good to know that Freakshow is definitely a thrilling escape room. It’s not just a cosy room filled with puzzles. At times, the atmosphere turns dark and the tension steadily builds. It never becomes too much, and if at any point it stops being fun for you, you’re free to leave the game. That said, we’ve found that most players are way too hooked to quit early.

Our advice? Just surrender to it. Often, it’s the things that scare us a little that end up becoming our favourite memories.

Do you really want to know? Alright then, there’s no actor in Freakshow. You won’t be chased by a clown with a chainsaw in this escape room. The only human interaction you’ll have is before and after the game with your host, and during the game with your own team. And hopefully, they can be trusted 😉

That doesn’t mean this escape room isn’t intense. You might not run into any living people, but we’re not saying you’ll be entirely alone either…

The tension builds quite a bit during the game, so if you’re heavily pregnant or have a very weak heart, you might want to ask yourself if Freakshow is the right choice for you.

Due to the physical nature of Freakshow, this escape room unfortunately isn’t suitable for wheelchair users or those using crutches. If you have limited mobility or use crutches but can still move around reasonably well, then in theory it is possible to escape from The Freakshow escape room.

People with limited vision or hearing can still take part in Freakshow, as long as there’s at least one team member with full sight and hearing.

It’s important to note that the Freakshow escape room contains very loud sounds and disturbing imagery. This may be very overwhelming for those with visual, auditory, or mental disabilities.

Freakshow is quite a physical escape room. As such, we recommend you wear clothing that makes you feel comfortable and you can move around in well. Keep in mind that there’s a chance you might get your feet wet in this escape room, so leave your new shoes at home! High heels, short skirts and tight fitted suits also aren’t the most suitable outfit choices for this DarkPark experience. You’ll definitely earn bonus points if you show up in a clown costume.

Actually, if you want the best possible experience, we strongly recommend coming with a team of four. Escape rooms are a unique form of private entertainment. You’ll get a special, personal experience, nothing like the mass attractions you’d find in a theme park. Trust us, in this case, less really is more.

The fire department doesn’t allow it either, so we stick to the limit of 6 players per game. That way, everyone stays safe and you get the best possible experience!

In the Freakshow escape room, the illusion is created that you’re locked in. In actuality, you can exit the escape room at any time by using the emergency stop present in every room in case of emergencies. There’s also constant supervision from outside via cameras and microphones placed throughout the escape room. All of our escape rooms completely abide by the legal requirements in terms of safety.

Sure, there might be the occasional brain-bender, but you’ll never run into impossible puzzles at DarkPark. What’s the point if you get stuck? We want you to enjoy yourself!

Our game hosts watch along via cameras to guide you through tricky moments. If you do happen to get stuck, we’ll give you a subtle nudge in the right direction so you can keep going.
